Lets Talk Nail Art

So I thought I would share with you guys were my love for painting my nails and nail art came from.  

I was 12 and I was sat with my nana admiring her lovely long nails that were always painted a shimmering pink polish. I asked her how her nails had gotten so long, she told me that she looked after them and didn't bite them. At the time I was terrible for biting my nails, I had horrible stubby nails. I was young and didn't care how my nails looked, I didn't care much about make up either. I was young, I felt I was too young for that. That was untill this conversation. My nana told me that if I stopped biting my nails for a month she would buy me my first nail polish and paint my nails for me. Just like that I stopped. I visited nana every sunday and she would sit me next to her and she would inspect each nail, file them down so they would grow to a nice shape. A month later we both went shopping and she let me pick my first ever bottle of nail polish. I can remember it was a candy floss pink. I can remember saying I wanted to have pink nails like nana.
My collection grew from there really, both of my nanas would buy me a polish set for my birthday and christmas. I had so many colours to choose from, then I started secondary school and I went through the goth/emo phase untill I was 15. Then it was just black nails all the time, only problem was it was damaging and staning my nails. I still didn't bite them and kept them nice and filed down in a nice shape, I just hated the fact they looked horrible because of the black polish staining them.
I started to take an interest in nail art while I was pregnant with my son back in 2011. I had so much free time on my hands as I didn't work as much, it just tired me out. I was going through pictures on google one day looking at leopard print and seen the design on someones nails and thought to myself Im going to have a go. I had recently bought some nail art pens and they were still in the box gathering dust. I created a snow leopard design with a shimmering pink polish, reminded me of my nanas nails.
Since then I have created so many different designs and have recently started doing my friends and familys nails. I now do acrylic nails.
I think maybe one day I can have my own business at home.
